Overview

Peterson CAT has an immediate opening for a Service Supervisor at our Willows branch store.  Reporting to Regional Service Manager – Ag Division, Service Supervisor is responsible for service department activities to provide prompt service to customers and other departments, including backing up parts counter and shop parts counter.

Responsibilities

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

Maintain a safe working environment and observe all safety procedures, laws, policies, and rules

Communicate with internal and external customers in a manner that promotes a positive relationship
Initiate and respond to communication with other departments, and customers in a timely manner to optimize customer satisfaction
Coordinate all department labor needs as requested by internal and external customers
Work with customers to determine source of problems and write work orders
Communicate with customers concerning service activities including reviewing jobs, explaining invoices, and identifying need for future repairs and making maintenance recommendations
Verify customer credit and payment requirements prior to initiating work orders
Handle and process C.O.D. payments within standard guidelines
Monitor department work in progress to ensure jobs are completed on time and to the highest quality standards
Review all work orders for accuracy and close in a timely manner using CAT DBS programs
Keep current on service, repair, and modification procedures for all brands and models of products assigned to the department
Oversee the inventory and maintenance of department tools, equipment, and supplies
Monitor and maintain department equipment and vehicles in good working order
Other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor

Qualifications

Prefer Associates degree in Diesel Technology or related field, plus six (6) years AG/heavy equipment service experience or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
Previous supervisory experience preferred; ability to create an environment of teamwork and collaboration.
Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, and mentor employees in order to foster high performance and employee engagement.
Previous experience preparing performance reviews and providing constructive feedback to employees.
Ability to communicate effectively both in written and verbal formats to promote positive relationships within the organization and with customers and vendors.
Ability to read, interpret, and analyze a variety of reports and business documents relating to service and technical procedures.
Ability to apply concepts of basic math for calculating labor hours, handling cash, and balancing accounts as needed.
Posses understanding of service department labor needs to adequately meet customer demands.
Proficient with basic computer programs (MS Office, Email) and ability to learn service-related software applications necessary to perform job duties.
Demonstrated ability to solve problems, provide solutions, and foster a professional environment for employees, customers, and vendors.
Possess valid driver's license and clear driving record to run occasional work-related errands.
