Peterson has an immediate need for an experienced Product Support Sales Representative at our San Martin, CA location. The person in the position promotes and sells company parts and service capabilities in an assigned territory.
Plan sales calls itinerary; make sales calls on existing and prospective customers; monitor and update call lists
Promote and sell Caterpillar parts and company service capabilities; inspect product; prepare and present sales proposal and service estimates; develop and present annual maintenance contracts.
Maintain and submit necessary paperwork and reports in a timely and complete manner, such as sales calls and expense reports, etc.
Follow up on sales calls as needed to ensure completed job; maintain good customer relations through frequent contacts; intercede to solve problems and disputes.
Provide materials and literature to support promotional efforts; coordinate and participate in facility visits and trade shows; keep customers informed of new products and changes.
Cooperate and communicate with sales, service and parts personnel; understand and communicate information regarding company products, services, and policies and procedures to new and existing customers.
Must be available for customer calls at off hours and during weekends for emergency situations
Keep current on new products and product changes and relevant company sales policies and procedures; seek out and submit cost improvements
Associates Degree in Diesel Technology, or a related field, and three (3) years experience in a customer service role in the heavy equipment service business or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to use basic Microsoft Office programs and to learn specific computer applications as needed
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume; apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Requires good verbal/written and interpersonal skills.
Must have a valid California driver's license and clean driving record
