Peterson has an immediate need for an experienced AG Part Sales Representative at our Hillboro, OR location.  The person in the position provides outstanding customer service to Peterson customers including walk-in, over the phone or internet orders by researching, pricing, locating, and timely follow up.

Responsibilities

  • Assist customers in determining parts needs with sense of urgency.
  • Create parts orders from phone, fax, and walk-in customers.
  • Advise customers of order status, including items on backorder.
  • Assist outside Parts and Service Sales Representatives, furnishing leads, answering questions, etc.
  • Order parts from manufacturers or outside vendors by preparing purchase orders and other appropriate purchase documents.
  • Keep customers informed on the status of any back ordered items.
  • Assist any department in preparing quotes by researching and pricing parts.
  • Provide after-hours emergency parts service on an on-call basis, as needed.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent, and three years of Agricultural equipment part sales, and warehouse experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Understanding and knowledge of Agricultural equipment and attachments and general understanding of competitive brands of heavy equipment machinery.   
  • Customer service experience in an inside sales-related role essential.
  • Must be able to, or have proof of completion in manufacture based parts training modules within six months of hire. Our suppliers are CAT, AGCO and CLAAS with various short lines. Some of this training will include the Caterpillar Parts Pro self-study training program. Other training to be assigned as needed.
