Peterson has an immediate need for an experienced Talent Acquisition Specialist at our Portland, OR location. The person in the position is responsible for delivering all facets of successful recruitment efforts at Peterson. This will be achieved through the development of local, regional, and national recruiting plans utilizing traditional sourcing strategies, as well as developing new and creative recruiting ideas. This primary function of this position is to perform full lifecycle recruiting for assigned jobs and to provide the highest level of customer service to hiring managers and candidates throughout the entire hiring process.
In partnership with hiring managers, develop an accurate job description and the overall recruitment strategy for the position. The strategy includes identifying the ideal candidate, the pool of potential candidates, deciding on the selection process, and determining the involvement by other Peterson employees and managers.
Once a clear target candidate is identified, develop search strategies leveraging a balance of creativity, drive, and industry savvy. Source active and passive candidates that fit and will further company culture through networking and direct sourcing.
Write and place effective job advertisements and coordinate notifying agencies and advertising mediums on job postings, ensuring compliance in accordance with EEO/Affirmative Action Plan guidelines and company policy.
Conduct initial interviews via phone or in person to ensure candidate qualifications, both technical and interpersonal.
Coordinate interviews between hiring manager and viable candidates.
Conduct references on candidates identified for positions, documenting and providing that to Human Resources. Notify non-selected candidates of their disposition.
Prepare offers of employment letters to successful candidates, including supplemental documents, based on position.
Coordinates offer letter presentation with hiring managers.
Coordinate and implement college recruiting initiatives; research and recommend new sources for active and passive candidate recruiting. Develop of pool of qualified candidates in advance of need.
Represent Peterson for recruiting purposes, locally regionally and nationally, at identified networking and industry events, job fairs, conferences, and etc.
Communicate AAP goals to hiring managers with current job openings. Promotes EEO/AAP/ADA concepts through hiring process. Notifies all candidates when jobs are filled. Closes job files and maintains data in applicant tracking system.
Coordinates smooth transition to HR Administrator when job offers are accepted by candidates.
Maintains thorough records of all job openings, applicant information, job postings, internal applicants, including assigning disposition of each candidate in the Applicant Tracking System (ATS), etc.

Participates in JumpStart meetings regularly; allows others to lead meeting and helps to interject enthusiasm and energy into meetings.

Maintains punctual, regular, and predictable attendance, including working evenings and weekends as workload dictates.
Travel and attend recruiting events, as well as to Peterson locations to partner with hiring managers for interviews and other recruiting related meetings.
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or Business Administration or similar discipline required, or the equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. At least 5 years of experience recruiting and hiring candidates at high volume using a variety of research techniques and tools. Experience conducting multiple searches, projects, and client relationships. HRIS experience with sourcing, tracking, and managing candidates. Display knowledge of multiple recruiting sources (i.e. Zip Recruiter, Indeed, Glassdoor, Craigslist, job fairs, trade schools, colleges, various employment resource centers, etc.) and possess proven sourcing techniques to identify and engage these resources. Be able to travel regionally up to 25% of the time.
