    BuildingPoint Pacific has an immediate need for an experienced Sales Manager at our San Leandro, CA location.

    Responsibilities

    The person in the position plans, organizes and directs a wide variety of complex sales and marketing functions, including forming relationships and communicate with clients at a senior/executive level to promote the brand. Requires a strong general knowledge of company policies and procedures applicable to BuildingPoint. Hires and supervises field sales representatives and maintains liaison with customers and key industry and division personnel as needed. 

     

    • Plan and promote sales strategy consistent with profit and overall Business plan targets and Company’s strategic goals. Analyze market area for products, competition and trends. Maintain effective utilization of personnel and equipment; assist in developing Business Plans and strategy. 
    • Provide both immediate response to issues putting retention at risk, and proactive activities in support of account retention and renewal.
    • Plan, develop and implement practices that drive sales and accountability.
    • Forecast sales targets and maintain required information for evaluation dashboards, spreadsheets, and other tools for evaluation of individuals (team). Track and record sales team activities to help close deals and meet sales targets. 
    • Review and approve, customer proposals, sales and customer agreements. Maintain approved workflow between sales and install/service/support and maintain established Gross Profit and pricing strategy. Ensure manufacturers training and orientation programs are arranged and implemented as appropriate.
    • Review and apply Trimble merchandising and trade-in funds to all new quotations as appropriate for maximum impact. Collaborate with Trimble/other representatives to determine most effective sales/support to maintain established Gross Profit and pricing strategy.
    • Stay up to date on product launches, and provide support to customers and sales team. Maintain knowledge of competing products and services, policies, pricing, distribution, etc. to enhance our position in the market. 
    • Manage sales control functions (e.g., CRM, Salesforce, etc.) and sales commission programs. Submit progress reports as needed.
    • Collaborate with other Peterson divisions and departments on company-wide goals and strategy. Maintain regular, open communications with other department managers and approved workflow.
    • Contribute to budgets, review monthly operating statements for accuracy, comparison to budget/Business Plan and make adjustments as required; and encourage the submission of cost improvements for the department and company.
    • Pursue all elements of the “Dealer Scorecard” with regard to Peterson, Caterpillar, Trimble or other initiatives or manufacturers reporting requirements.
    • Hire and assign personnel; direct instruction and training; corrective action; conduct salary reviews and performance appraisals; ensure adherence to company policies, rules and regulations; maintain a high level of productivity and morale.

    Qualifications

    Bachelor's degree from a fully accredited college or university in Business or closely related field, and a minimum of ten years directly related experience preferably in a commercial construction environment; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

    Must be able to travel up to 25% of the time.
