    Peterson has an immediate need for an experienced Regional Manager for Rental Services in our Southern Oregon region.  Reporting to the General Manager of Rental, the Regional Manager of Rental Services is responsible for managing region operations for machines and the related equipment for the rental business.

    Responsibilities

    Manager is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of this unit.
    Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and
    applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning,
    assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees;
    addressing complaints and resolving problems. Ensure all staff understands and lives
    Peterson’s Core Values and attends courses such as Brand Ambassador that teach and
    encourage these values.


    Responsible for analyzing Employee Opinion Survey (EOS) results, holding results meetings,
    providing feedback to direct reports and/or workgroups and creating and implementing action
    plans.

    • Responsible to lead and manage direct report employees; provide coaching to employees to improve performance to maximize productivity and quality.
    • Interview, hire, train, supervise, and discipline employees. Evaluate performance and conduct performance appraisals of employees. Recommend wage increases, ensure adherence to company policies and regulations, and maintain high level of productivity and morale.
    • Develop quarterly forecasts for rental revenue, cost of sales, direct expenses and inventory conversions.
    • Monitor department expenses and revenues; take corrective action where appropriate to meet budget and to ensure profitability
    • Manage fleet inventory mix, including additions, deletions, and upgrades; oversee and account for fleet repairs and expenses
    • Oversee & reconcile physical inventory utilizing iMetrix at the approved intervals
    • Utilize iRents reports to manage: machine substitutions, overdue pickups, overdue billings, C.O.D. reconciliation, rate and billing overrides, etc.
    • Insure branch compliance with company policies and procedures
    • Develop reports for upper management as required
    • Administrate and monitor on call personnel schedules and procedures
    • Insure branch compliance with company safety programs, training and facility inspections
    • Maintain personal contact with customers to ensure continuing good customer relations; intercede as necessary to resolve problems
    • Keep current on new developments and product changes relevant to rental equipment, policies and procedures
    • Promote the company's "core values" through "jump start" meetings, employee opinion surveys and other creative employee events and recognition activities
    • Maintain relationships with 3rd party hauling companies
    • Regularly demonstrates Brand Ambassador communication principles:
    • Show up and be present (sets aside distractors when someone is talking)
    • Pay attention to what has heart and meaning (listens for understanding)
    • Works to build trust among direct reports and peers alike with reliability and credibility
    • Holds JumpStart meetings regularly; allows others to lead meeting and helps to interject enthusiasm and energy into meetings.

    • Addresses behaviors which are counter to core values.

    Qualifications

    EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

    Bachelor’s degree (BA or BS) in a related field from an accredited college or university;
    and seven years’ related experience in the rental equipment business, including three
    years of management responsibility, or the equivalent combination of education and
    experience.

     

    CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
    Must possess a valid driver’s license and a clear driving record
