    Peterson has an immediate need for an experienced Maintenance / Utility Person at our Portland location.  Reporting to the Maintenance Lead Person, the Maintenance / Utilityperson is responsible for assuring that Peterson facilities are maintained in a functional and presentable state.

    Responsibilities

    Perform electrical work; maintain, replace and install lighting at the facility (Florescent

    lighting, 120v-277v and Metal Halide lighting 120v-490v), perform a variety of electrical
    repairs, both major and minor and work with the required voltage: 120v, 208v, 240v,
    277v, and 480v both single and 3-phase.
    Diagnose and troubleshoot cranes, parts-washers, welders, air conditioners, heating and
    all other equipment at Peterson facilities.
    Diagnose and troubleshoot shop machinery units when they fail.

    Perform concrete work; patch minor holes and cracks on the facility.
    Perform plumbing work; keeps drains system flowing.
    Perform routine maintenance and repair of water treatment system; daily and weekly
    operational checks and cleaning of system and make necessary repairs to treatment
    system and cleaning equipment as required.
    Correct or alter facilities and equipment items that pertain to safety.
    Maintain materials and other supplies to complete emergency repairs.
    Perform other miscellaneous duties as directed.
    Work overtime, including evening and weekends, depending on workloads.
    Maintains punctual, regular, and predictable attendance.

    Qualifications

    High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and two (2) to three (3) years’
    experience and/or training in facility maintenance; or equivalent combination of education and
    experience. Previous experience performing maintenance and repair to parts washers used in
    performing daily tasks is essential. Experience operating forklift, pickup truck, flatbed and trailer,
    and various kinds of equipment related to position.

     

    Possess valid Oregon Class B driver's license or the ability to obtain a class B license within 6
    months of employment. Must possess a clean DMV driving record.
