    Peterson has an immediate need for an experienced Rollback Truck Driver at our Portland, OR location.  Reporting to Rental Branch Manager and under direction of the Central Dispatcher, the Rollback Truck Driver is responsible for delivery of rental equipment to customer sites and transfer to other branches in a Rollback Truck or 1 Ton Truck/Trailer.

    Responsibilities

    • Maintain a safe working environment and observe all company and DOT safety procedures, laws, policies, and rules.
    • Monitor and maintain the assigned delivery vehicle in accordance with manufacturer, company, and DOT guidelines. It is also the driver’s responsibility to insure that all required registrations, permits and inspections are current and valid.
    • Interact with internal and external customers in a positive and professional manner including listening, gaining understanding, and accurately relaying customer concerns, and complaints to the appropriate person.
    • Load and transport rental equipment in a safe and secure manner following DOT guidelines for secure and tie-down of equipment.
    • Confirm correct equipment and accessories are delivered to/retrieved from correct customer jobsite locations.
    • Communicate with dispatcher and rental counter employees in a timely manner.
    • Inspect equipment for damage when picking up equipment from customers.
    • Fuel rental equipment as required.
    • Electronically log equipment in with correct location upon return to branch.
    • Wash and maintain rental equipment as directed.
    • Follow all company safety rules and use of applicable PPE.
    • Promote positive company image by professional conduct, personal appearance, and truck appearance.
    • Complete all rental and related documents in an accurate and timely manner.
    • Work overtime as needed within labor law and DOT guidelines
    • Regular attendance are timeliness is an essential function of the job. 
    • Works collaboratively in a team environment with a spirit of cooperation. 
    • Respectfully takes direction from supervisor/ manager.
    • Must wear company provided uniform when performing the above mentioned job functions.

    Qualifications

    QUALIFICATIONS 

    • Class "B" Commercial Driver’s License with required endorsements and current Medical Certificate.
    • Maintain an acceptable safe driving record.
    • Possess basic computer knowledge and ability to use web-based application for timekeeping.

     

    EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

    High school diploma and completion of a certified truck driver training program and one (1) year experience in a similar delivery vehicle or equivalent combination of education and experience.

    Previous experience with web-based timekeeping applications (ADP) preferred.
