    Peterson Holding has an immediate need for a Parts Specialist at our Hillsboro, OR location.

    Under the daily supervision of the GM Parts and Product Support Sales, the quoting and ordering of product are key responsibilities. Develop new contracts, including but not limited to, terms and conditions, pricing, stocking agreements, etc. 


    • Working closely with service and sales department, responsible for the sourcing of “O” parts and systems that are developed by the Product Support Representatives (PSSRs), Inside Sales Representative (ISR) and the shop.
    • Utilize a brief RFQ process to determine best available pricing and value; summarize for ISR and PSSRs quoting to external customers.
    • Quote and subsequently complete Requests and Purchase Orders to purchase products for Resale utilizing Purchasing system.
    • Review “O” parts inventory stocking levels to maintain a good percent of fill at Peterson’s high use locations.
    • Develop and manage supplier relationships and assist with supplier development where necessary to insure competitive pricing and competent parts sourcing.
    • Review “O” parts inventory items to determine which should be returned to suppliers due to inactive status.
    • Travel to supplier business locations and other Peterson locations.
    • Regular attendance and timeliness is an essential function of the job.
    • Works collaboratively in a team environment with a spirit of cooperation.
    • Respectfully takes direction from supervisor/ manager.
    • Provide spend analysis and recommendations for improved processes and sourcing for future buys.
    • Develop cost savings recording process and other reporting systems for internal customers and stake holders.
    • Pre-qualify suppliers, set up suppliers in various systems.





    High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED); and three years of working in an industrial/commercial parts environment, or the equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience with parts ordering and working with suppliers highly preferred.

    • Must be able to develop and maintain highly effective working relationships with a wide variety of management and staff at all levels of the organization.
    • Ability to change priorities and remain productive in a fast-paced work environment.
    • Ability to perform duties with a sense of urgency.
    • Possess a high level of organizational skills and ability to perform multiple tasks at a time.
    • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. 
    • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. 
    • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers, vendors and employees of organization.
    • Displays excellent communication skills including presentation, persuasion, and negotiation skills required in working with customers/ coworkers, including the ability to communicate effectively and remain calm and courteous under pressure. 
    • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, and percentages.
    • Has advanced basic computer job skills including logging on to systems, ability to communicate by email, ability to compose documents, enter database information, download forms, and preserve/backup important data. 
    • Has an understanding and capabilities in using applicable programs and knowledge of networks.  


    Proven high level of proficiency in MS Excel and Word as well as standard programs such as MS Windows, email and electronic document printing, saving, filing and retrieval
