    Peterson The CAT Rental Store has an immediate need for a Rental Branch Manager at our Medford, OR location.

    Reporting to the rental general manager, primary job function is to oversee the rental branch operation at the branch location. Work to develop and establish new business and a continued positive relationship with our current customer base, consistently exceeding all customers’ expectations. Understand the customer and their specific business needs. Provide all inclusive sales – know and sell all ancillary products associated with core product line.


    • Responsible for developing new rental sales opportunities; increasing company’s market share. Accountable for continuously improving customer satisfaction.
    • Responsible for increasing rental sales revenue margin within the assigned territory. Manage the profit and loss (P/L) for the store rental operation product line.
    • Attend monthly credit meetings and assume responsibility for assisting the credit department with account collection activities.
    • Work with marketing to develop a comprehensive territory marketing strategy to support the product line, attracting potential rental and sales opportunities.
    • Control branch inventory of the product line to ensure financial and utilization metric benchmarks are achieved.
    • Monitor and control maintenance costs of branch rental inventory. Select inventory for transfer or disposal that is not meeting acceptable financial benchmarks.
    • Coordinate inventories processes and reconcile overages and shortages with rental operations manager.
    • Responsible for the hiring of rental coordinators, drivers and yard utility personnel. Provide coaching, mentoring and development of rental staff to meet the needs of our customers and future business opportunities and growth. Assess the gaps in the skills and competencies of the rental department staff required to fulfill their assigned roles and responsibilities. Develop action plans that will close the gaps and measure performance as the means to seek continuous improvement in the work process.
    • Establish, enhance and maintain superior customer service principals and image with all rental staff at all times.
    • Ensure that all Peterson policies and procedures are adhered to throughout the rental process with respect to:
      • Cash reconciliation
      • Customer insurance requirements
      • Customer rate profiles
      • Credit card procedures
      • Rental agreement and condition report processes
      • Credit and collection process
      • Recovery of customer damage charges
    • Maintain relationships with local 3rd party vendors to receive the value proposition that is best for Peterson.
    • Responsible for inventory and facility security. File police reports for missing/stolen location inventory.
    • Monitor DMV and Oregon Motor Carrier registration expirations for all rental branch inventories.
    • Ensure that all branch inventory DOT, ANSI and crane inspections are up to date.
    • Coordinate maintenance activities with maintenance technicians.
    • Follow up with the customer to ensure that the company has met their needs. Maintain good customer relations; intercede to solve problems and disputes; look for ways to enhance customer relations within scope of the Company mission statement.
    • Responsible for branch safety program. Must assist in the coordination and actively participate in the branch safety committee. Ensure staff member attendance at weekly/monthly safety meetings. Participate in shop inspections and safety committee meetings as required.
    • Promote a “total safety culture” with all employees. Ensure that 1st responders are available and have up to date certifications in case of a 1st aid emergency.
    • Responsible for monitoring and coordination of branch facility maintenance and inspection items.
    • Responsible for maintaining up to date “emergency action plan” for branch location and training employees on the contents and procedures of the emergency action plan.



    • Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from four-year College or University or equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • Five + years related experience or equivalent
