Peterson Holding has an immediate need for an experienced Process Specialist - RPA at our San Leandro, CA location.

The Process Specialist will be responsible for evaluating and documenting established business processes in order to develop and document processes which can be automated using Robotic Process Automation (RPA). The Specialist is the key RPA expert during the process analysis and documents the automations for use by RPA developer(s) and is the primary resource during user acceptance testing (UAT). The Process Specialist judges the feasibility of process candidates for RPA and determines the maturity and benefits of each automation.


  • Conduct process requirements sessions with key business users to document and understand as-is processes.
  • Work with process owners, stakeholders and key business users to develop and model optimized processes.
  • Create process models conforming to standard industry norms and process definition documents for use by RPA developers.
  • Collaborate with IT professionals for necessary integrations and RPA development.
  • Plan, document, perform and coordinate UAT.
  • Problem solve issues related to automations, provide responses and solutions as required.
  • Identify, design and implement creative business and technology solutions to continually improve Peterson’s methodology and approach.
  • Work on non-RPA projects such as business analysis, system design, business process re-engineering and change management.
  • Operate company or personal vehicle as needed.
  • Maintain punctual, regular, and predictable attendance.


Bachelor's Degree from a fully accredited college in Business, Accounting, Administration or other closely related field; and a minimum of three years of directly related experience in business administration, project management, requirements analysis and/or business process analysis.  Object-oriented programming, data modeling, low code development and RPA development skills a plus, preferably in a heavy industrial environment; or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.

  • Experience with business process and project management tools (Visio, Project)
  • Deep working knowledge of lean process methodology and agile development methodology
  • Strong design thinking/data modeling skills
  • Ability to think outside the box to develop automation opportunities
  • Understands data, data models and systems
  • Exceptional communication and collaboration skills with the ability to articulate and sell solutions to cross-functional teams and executives
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize as needed despite change in scope, scale or deadline of task
  • Creative thinker and who devises creative solutions to complicated process and data problems
  • Can manipulate, grasp, and interpret datasets intuitively
  • Self-starter
  • Fluent with Office 365 programs (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Teams, Power Automate, Power Apps experience a plus)


  • Lean Six Sigma, Agile, Project Management Professional (PMP), or Certificate in Project Management (CAPM) preferred
  • RPA certification a plus
